Qualified as an Italian lawyer (avvocato) in 2011, immediately following Maria Clelia joined the International Department of Studio Legale Metta. Her primary practice areas are administrative law and international litigation for civil legal disputes with a focus on real estate and inheritance issues.
After earning her Italian law degree, cum laude, at the University of Bari (Università degli Studi di Bari) in 2007, Maria Clelia started a two-year internship at the Italian State Legal Advisory Service (Avvocatura Distrettuale dello Stato) for the Bari district where she specialized in civil legal disputes involving the Italian Public Administration.
In particular, she worked on the legal defense of the Italian Health Department (Ministero della Salute) and the Italian Education and Scientific Research Department (Ministero dell’Istruzione, dell’Università e della Ricerca), focusing on medical malpractice claims and compensations, as well as on legal disputes of employment and labour union law.
In 2007 she completed a training course called Civil Liability Laboratory, organized by the Italian Association of Young Lawyers (Associazione Italiana Giovani Avvocati - AIGA).
In 2010 Maria Clelia completed a specialisation course on Internet and Legal Rights at the Court of Bari.
In 2014 she joined the Summer School of CNF (Italian Bar Association) on Drafting International Contracts - Common and Civil Law Perspectives, at King's College - School of Law of London.
