Italian Property Tax Payment – IMU

Italian Property Tax Payment – IMU

Italian Property Tax Payments Made Easy

Payment deadlines from the Italian Tax Authority:  16 June and 16 December

NOTE: SLM deadline to submit the form below and have the tax payment made on time is May 24. If you submit the form after the May 24 deadline, the tax amount due will include a late fee paid directly to the Tax Authority.

You can also use this service to file for “redemption” IMU tax payment (i.e. paying prior year’s taxes or missed deadlines).

IMU (homeowners tax) is a personal tax. This means that, if a property is owned by more than one person, each of them is responsible for IMU based on the respective ownership share and payments must be done individually, in the name of each owner. This also applies if the owners are two spouses, two or more investment partners, siblings, etc.

You can read more about IMU here.

Our service includes calculating and paying IMU for the entire year. If you would like to pay IMU for only part of the year (e.g. if you are selling or buying a property and will not own it for the full year), you can indicate for which months you’d like to settle your IMU in the ‘message’ field toward the end of the workflow. Our fee remains the same regardless of the number of months for which you are requesting payment. Should you like us to pay IMU for the first six months of the year only and then contact us later to assist with payment with respect to the December payment, our fees to process the December payment will be equal to 50% of the fee paid for the first payment.
