Studio Legale Metta is an Italian entity and as such, all our accounting is done in Euros. Clients who have bank accounts in other currencies (US Dollars, British Pounds, etc.), will have that money converted before it can be received by our bank.
Some Clients use an international currency exchange company (like Wise, formerly Transferwise). You can do some research to decide which you prefer (based on fees and exchange rates).
Companies like Wise will give the sender the option to specify the amount of money the recipient should receive, in the currency required. For example, if you are paying a retainer of 1200€, you can indicate that SLM is to receive 1200€ and the currency broker will do the conversion for you, based on their own exchange rate. No need for you to do the math to determine what amount should be sent in USD (for example) in order for SLM to receive that 1200€.
Currency exchange companies generally impose a fee to convert and send the money (much like a bank would do). SLM is not responsible for any fees that your financial institution may impose. For all purposes, exclusively the net amount credited into SLM’s bank account will be taken into consideration.
There are a number of currency exchange brokers, and we’ve included a few of the most popular below:

We would advise you to do your own research if you want to compare fees or reviews for the various companies. SLM does not have an affiliation or relationship with any of these companies and therefore does not endorse a particular broker. This information is provided as a courtesy for those who are not familiar with these options to send money internationally.
