Online payment rejected

Question: I tried twice to pay your bill online by credit card. Both times I received a message from your website that the transaction was rejected. Why?

Answer: If you use a non-Italian credit card to pay our bill, your credit card might treat the payment as a “foreign transaction”. Your credit card might have some restrictions for this kind of transactions. Such restrictions might depend on several factors, e.g., anti-fraud settings preventing payments to entities overseas in a foreign currency. In many cases credit card holders are allowed to change said settings, as a one-time transaction confirmation or to apply to all future transactions.

The “rejected payment” message that appeared on your screen might have prompted you to contact your credit card “anti-fraud assistance” dedicated number. Contacting your credit card company in general leads to the problem being quickly resolved.
