SLM partner Nick Metta presented key aspects of Cross Border Successions rules during a seminar for lawyers at the Bari Bar Association (Consiglio dell’Ordine degli Avvocati di Bari) on April 28, 2016.

Nick, a member of the Bari Bar Association, presented jointly with Alessandro Armenio, an Italian Notaio with experience of international successions.

Together they guided attendees through the new rules set out by the European Regulation no. 650/2012, how they affect the traditional Italian inheritance law, succession and estate planning, highlighting areas such as: conflict rules, residency norms and taxation concerns. This presentation, sponsored by AIGA and Camera Civile, two Italian lawyers associations, has been organized for legal professionals as part of the continuing legal education (CLE) program.
