On 26 and 27 September 2013 a group of experts in Bagni di Lucca and Umbertide will meet the local expat communities to discuss estate planning tailored to their needs.

Concrete financial and estate planning strategies will be discussed to better manage the particularities of an expat. Applying these strategies allows the expat to minimize costs and, perhaps more importantly, maximize opportunities directly related to the expat status.

At the seminars, Italian lawyer Nick Metta will discuss international cross-border inheritance succession. In particular, his presentation will look at drafting a will and the applicable law, Italian reserved shares, and inheritance taxation.

Each year numerous expats move to Italy for work or for pleasure. During the normal process of integration with the local territory and culture expats realize that some aspects of their expat status make it difficult to address finance and estate planning in the same way locals would.

Foreign nationality, assets abroad or a foreign source of income, typically mean that a customized strategy must be developed to protect one’s assets. In some cases the expat “diversity” implies additional financial and bureaucratic duties; in other cases it represents an opportunity.

These seminars are offered without charge, however, registration is required.
