MEDICAL MALPRACTICE AND LEGAL RIGHTS: SLM INVITED TO TALK AT SEMINAR BY MILAN UNIVERSITY CATTOLICA DEL SACRO CUORE SLM
Jacopo Metta is the legal expert chosen by the Milan University Cattolica del Sacro Cuore to talk at the seminar on “Medical Malpractice and Legal Rights” held on 9 June 2009 at the University premises in Campobasso.
The seminar’s main topic was the chemotherapy procedure, its risks and consequences for patients and technicians involved in it, including physicians, nurses, and therapists.
With a large experience in medical malpractice and related legal rights, the Italian lawyer Jacopo Metta explained the civil and the criminal responsibilitieson health care providers, and clinical professionals in general. After an overview of the legal subject, he also talked about specific case studies and applicable case law.
Medical malpractice legal claims against health organizations are constantly growing in Italy. The health system needs prepared professionals able to detect and address critical situations which could turn into a medical malpractice legal claim.
