On 9 June 2010, the Real Estate Awards were granted to the best Italian and foreigner real estate organizations. One of the most important Italian magazines specialized in real estate transactions, “RE Real Estate”, hosted the 5th Edition of the Real Estate Awards at the East End Studios in Milan.
Studio Legale Metta is pleased to announce making the top 3 in the category “Best Strategic Legal Advisor”. The recognition was granted with respect to SLM’s role of legal advisor for Casa del Sole complex, in a 45 million euro real estate deal.
The Casa del Sole project consisted of a massive real estate sale in Calabria to non Italian investors from UK, Ireland, Germany, Canada and Russia, among others. Casa del Sole was having difficulty moving forward on preliminary contracts that had been settled two years prior, during a more favourable financial timeperiod. After repeated defaults within the deal, Casa del Sole employed SLM to avoid dangerous completion delays and safeguard cash-flow expectations.
The SLM Real Estate Department’s work identified risk situation of potential buyer default and then developed concrete legal strategies to avoid breach of contract situations.
The firm’s adept management of the judicial strategies maximized the outcome of this multi million euro real estate project to protect the client’s best interest.
The positive outcome enabled the Casa Del Sole to move forward on construction work and maintained international buyers who were looking to default and leave properties empty. In this manner, SLM negotiated a positive outcome not only for the client, but also for the Calabrian property market and Calabria’s image in the international investment market. (SLM, 18 June 2010)
